Glide School District

About Us

Glide School District, nestled in a beautiful rural area along the world-famous wild and scenic North Umpqua River, offers a unique combination of academic excellence, outdoor adventures, and a strong sense of community. Located 20 minutes east of Roseburg in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains of southwestern Oregon, our district comprises an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school, with an enrollment of about 715 students attending school four days per week.

With a dedication to creating future leaders, Glide School District provides a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for success in college and beyond. Our partnership with multiple colleges and universities offers additional resources, including Dual Credit and Expanded Options courses. In addition to academics, we offer a variety of sports programs, extracurricular activities, and a thriving FFA program. Embracing the outstanding outdoor recreational activities in our area, students and staff can enjoy hiking, biking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing, and hunting.

The district boasts a high graduation rate year after year, well above the state and county averages, and is unofficially considered a "destination" district for our size, sports, and location. Our small class sizes, supportive staff relationships, and numerous staff engagement activities outside the work environment make Glide School District a place where students can be proud to graduate from and staff members can be proud to retire from.

At Glide School District, our dedication to academic excellence, small-town charm, and access to outdoor adventures make it a truly special place for students to learn, grow, and succeed. We are always looking for talented educators and staff members to join our team and help us continue providing the best possible education for our students.
